After selling 30 copies worlwide, ANYWAY has realized the band hasn't
sold
enough demos to make it.
On the other hand the few guys who's listened to their first project
were
blown away by hearing how a new band from an Italian suburb could
make up such songs.
Although Anyway is a new band formed in 2005, the two members Seh
and
Giorgio have been playing together for eight years.
At that time Seh already used to play in a band, but when he starded
talking
to Giorgio in high school realized he had found the buddy who could
create
something special with.
'I liked that guy' Seh says 'He lived in the last village on a mountain,
and
used to spend almost 3 hours a day on buses just to go back and
forth from
school. When he starded playng drums I would lend him albums I was
totaly
excited about. His first reaction would be 'don't like it, sounds
weird' and
few days later ' this sound is a really far-out! Nowadays he's still
the
same, no matter what he listens to.'
Mustin was the first band they formed with Francesco Novelli of
Low Profile
and other two guys. Megadeth and Metallica's thrash metal riffs
were
basically the roots of their sound. After almost two years the band
splidded up.
'Music and jamming with Seh had become something I couldn't do without'
Giorgio points out.
In 2002 they recorded two songs in a project named Lone. Giorgio
didn't just
play drums he also singed himself the first track,
the second one was singed by another vocalist (Andrea Bassani).
For the
bass, they called an oldfriend of theirs, Mattia Togni who already
played in
different locobands.
Right after that project Seh set off for U.S. for a period of time
of two
years in wich he didn't developed his guitar technique at all, but
exposed
to American radio rock stations, his songwriting was influenced
by many
bands.
'I was working in a ranch in Oklahoma, the only thing I could do
was shovel
horse shit and listening to Katt. Then when I moved to Boston, and
taked
care of American kids I would change shitty dipers and listening
to Waaf. No
matter where I was in the U.S. there was a great deal of shit to
pick up,
but also grat music to listen to. In Italy there are no rock stations,
no
rock culture at all, too bad!'
Once back in Italy Seh and Giorgio decided to call the former bassist
of
their first project Mattia Togni and pursue new creative directions.
'We had so much fun with Mattia in 2002 that we wanted him back'
Seh states.
'Sometimes it's not just a matter of music... it's about getting
along and
have a great time together. We knew he was the guy' Giorgio notes.
Now only the vocalist was missing. They looked for the right singer
everywhere and give zillion of auditions just to find the right
one.
Unfortunately they didn't find any voice that could fit in but that
would
not stop them.
Seh says 'Giorgio's voice was really good but he loved so much stay
on drums
that there was no chance he would have ever taken a mike in his
hands and
dropped sticks. So I decided to give it a try, hoping eventually
to find a
frontman '
For their concerts Davide Gherardi was recruited to be the additional
guitarist. 'Davide is the most talented guitar player in Bergamo,
and Seh's idol... we were honored to know that such musician was
actually looking forward to
playing our stuff!' Mattia says.
'He's my guitar mentor and we all grew from having him next to us
on stage
and glad we got him to play a couple of solos in our demo' Seh states.
Anyway recorded their debut demo the second half of November 2005
at
Suonovivo with the producer Dario Ravelli.
This project is an awsome melodic hard rock product and hopefully
the first
step towards a great succes |
